How it works

Together we’ll sit down and discuss just

what you and your family like to eat and what you absolutely don’t like, specific dishes and how much you want to do. You determine if you want daily meal preparation or if it all gets done ahead of time or some combination of the two.

From there I tailor menus to your tastes and submit them for your approval.

You get to pick what you like and I take care of the rest – shopping, preparation and cleanup.

Made-ahead meals will include thawing and reheating instructions.

Whenever possible, your own cookware and storage containers will be used. When necessary, Home Cookin’ will supply what is needed or make recommendations to properly equip your kitchen.

Fees
  • Food costs – these are passed on directly to you. Menu planning will keep an eye toward economy as well as quality. Instead of shopping per meal, food purchases are planned to keep the pantry stocked.
  • Chef’s time – Is based on a rate of $22.50 an hour, 4-hour minimum per day, for 4-5 people. Larger groups incur additional charges. Charges cover menu planning, shopping, preparation, packaging and cleanup. Fees are customized to individual clients to suit their needs, their budget and their individual plan.
  • Retainer – After we finalize the week’s menu, 50 percent down is requested with the balance to be paid at week’s end. Late, billing and returned check fees may apply.
  • Changes – Menus will be planned a minimum of a two weeks ahead of time, changes with less than a week’s notice will be subject to a 20 percent surcharge, based on the original menu charge.
